10% off everything at Veals Mail Order for today only (Weds 19th April)

This wasn’t planned, but because I subscribe to the Veals Mail Order news and offers thing, an email dropped into my inbox last night with details of a flash sale of 10% off everything. Use the code FLASH10 at checkout to get this offer, valid until midnight tonight. If this is of no interest to you then I hope to see you on Friday, but if you are looking to allow this lure fishing addiction to further ruin your life then here are a few suggestions which I particularly like the sound of…………….

My go-to bass fishing lures

That Savage Gear SGS6 9’ 7-35g rod which I reviewed the other day and which I genuinely think is one of the best 9’ lure rods I have ever fished with at any price is now about £189 with this FLASH10 code. Please note that I have had an affiliate link arrangement with Veals Mail Order for a while now. You might have noticed that I always, always put a disclaimer at the bottom of any blog post which contains an affiliate link. Any money I might earn from affiliate links is never, ever going to cover the time I spend doing this blog, but anything is better than nothing and I am eternally grateful to any of you here who purchase anything through any of my links. Thank you. And yes, my Englishness continues to gnaw at an ever present feeling of slight unease at my use of affiliate links, but I know that I am always completely honest about links and tackle company connections and so on. And with my thoughts and opinions of course.

Savage Gear lure rods

The two Savage Gear SGS5 9-35g rods - 9’ and 9’6’’ - which I happen to think are some of the best “more affordable” lure rods you can get are now at a bit of a silly price of around £122 with the FLASH10 code. It’s amazing what we can get out hands on these days, and you also know how much I like messing around with lure rods, but each time I go back to “my” SGS5 rods I am blown away by how good we managed to make them.

Now the new Penn Authority 2500 and 3500 spinning reels are not remotely cheap, but for me and how I go about so much of my bass fishing, I haven’t fished with better reels. For sure they are heavier than the equivalent Shimanos or Daiwas, but I gave up worrying about that a long time ago. With this FLASH10 sale the Authority 2500 is down to £387 and the larger Authority 3500 is down to £414. Still not cheap, but I can’t imagine their regular prices are going to come down any time soon.

Penn spinning reels

As much as I like these Penn Authority reels though, when I fish with the cheaper Penn Slammer IV 2500 and 3500 I can’t get away from the fact that the Slammers are incredible reels and give me very nearly all that the Authority reels do. With this FLASH10 sale the regular Slammer IV 2500 is what I think is an incredible £171, the Slammer IV 3500 is £198, and then the slightly upgraded, silver coloured Slammer IV 2500DX is £202.50 and the Slammer IV 3500DX is £243. Another Penn related thing is their new range of Conflict Elite lure rods which I am totally in love with. With 10% off for today I see that all the Penn Conflict Elite rods that Veals Mail Order stock come in at under the £300 mark. I won’t bang on about this anymore but I do know that my own bank account has had a little hammering!
