LURE FISHING RODS - PENN
I never thought I’d be creating a separate category for Penn lure rods for our lure fishing. Please excuse my ignorance then because wow there are some impressive Penn (Europe) lure rods out there, with the higher-end Conflict Elite rods being some of the most impressive lure fishing rods I have ever used. I am really enjoying getting to know more of these rods.
Penn Conflict Inshore 9’ Max 30g
Around £100 gets you a really good 9’ lure rod in this Penn Conflict Inshore 9’ Max 30g. Easy to fish with, nice and fast and responsive, if you don’t mind about the fixtures and fittings not being from Fuji then you’re getting so much of the goodness of the more expensive XR version for a fair bit less money. Penn Conflict XR Inshore 9’ Max 30g
A slightly tighter and more together version of the cheaper Penn Conflict Inshore 9’ Max 30g, this Penn Conflict XR Inshore 9’ Max 30g is a really good lure rod for how a lot of anglers go about their bass fishing. Feels tough as hell and made to last, I seriously like this thing. Review here.

Penn Conflict Elite 8’ 6-32g
I had almost forgotten how much fun it was to go bass fishing from the shore with a really good shorter lure rod. This incredible Penn Conflict Elite 8’ 6-32g is so verstile and efficient, and whilst I have fished with far more than 32g on it, I don’t recommend messing around with your warranty. Subtle and powerful and wand-like in the hand, this rod is the real deal. Review here.

Penn Conflict Elite 9’ 8-38g
The first Penn lure rod I ever fished with, and over a few sessions this stunning Penn Conflict Elite 9’ 8-38g blew me away. So easy to fish (well) with and so ridiculously efficient at putting lures out there, might just be the longest-casting 9’ lure rod I know, I am reminded a lot of the very high-end Shimano Exsence lure rods. This Penn rod is that good in my book. Review here.
