Some good fishing, some tough fishing, that is always going to be bass fishing is it not?
I haven’t got much time so my photos are going to have to do the talking here, but we’ve been finding some good bass fishing and some tough bass fishing. When it’s good we think we know a little bit, and when the fish beat us up we wake up at 2.15am like I did this morning wondering what is going on! I am going to grab some words I put up on Facebook the other day because I need to wolf my breakfast down and go grab the lads for some more fishing………..
This guiding work that I do with John Quinlan in this magical place called Kerry is a particular kind of thrill on a bunch of different levels. One of those thrills is being able to put lures into anglers' hands which I trust will work in certain situations, and via my work with Savage Gear, which I might have had even a small bit of input into.
Like the Markos Vidalis designed Slap Walker surface lure which accounted for this dark coloured bass above for John, plus a few more bass on a very shallow reef. Markos is a wizard with hard lures, and just like Mads Grosell he listens to ideas and feedback and then comes up with gems. I got a bit of input into the three sizes of Slap Walker but I credit 99% of it to Markos. It's been the 12.5cm/20g version which has been working for John here. Serious missile of a surface lure, very good hooks, easy to work. My kind of lure and I have been fishing with them for a good while back home. You all have a good weekend………..
