Have a good Bank Holiday weekend, I am driving over to Ireland today
This is going to be a short one because I need to go for my run with the dog - yes, you heard right, I said run! - then grab some breakfast, pack the Epic Berlingo up, and hit the road for west Wales and the ferry over to Rosslare in south east Ireland. As I said the other day, I am doing a bunch of lure fishing related talks and demonstrations at the rather excellent Irish Spring Angling Fair near Waterford on the south coast of Ireland. Hope to see some of you there.
So I thought I’d leave you with a photo of a rather fine Irish bass from the other day. It was caught by a lad called Rob Ro who was staying at Thatch Cottage fishing lodge where I do my co-guiding work. What was extra special about this 69cms bass was that it was John Quinlan’s first day of guiding for the 2023 season, and I bet you any money that that 90%+ of anglers would have walked straight past where this bass was caught without even giving the bit of water a second glance. Talk about getting back on the saddle with a new season of guided fishing! I have a lot on here at home so I can’t stay in Ireland very long at all, indeed I will be driving over today, doing the show Saturday and Sunday, then driving back home on the Bank Holiday Monday. You all have a good weekend and I will catch up with you next week……………………
