At last, driving to Ireland for co-guiding work, apologies to our clients in advance because I’m very excited! Anybody up for one of our trips in early November?

There were a few times during the last couple of years when I began to think I might never get over to Ireland again - yes, it’s been two years since I was last fishing or guiding or photographing in my favourite country on earth - but today I am really driving over to Kerry for a couple of weeks of co-guiding work with my good friend John Quinlan of the rather outstanding Thatch Cottage Fishing operation. Our clients who could not come last year are coming this year, and if any of you are reading this blog post then let me apologise right now because I am one very overexcited middle aged angler who is almost beside himself with getting back over to Ireland and doing what I so love to do - help other anglers catch a few fish and help with their fishing skills…………….

With the state of the world we didn’t get to run our July trips earlier this year, so John and I put our heads together and came up with another co-guided trip for early November 2021 which of course is only a few short weeks away. We have one spot available so if any of you here fancy coming over to what I promise you is one of the most special places you could ever hope to visit, please contact me here and I can get the ball rolling. Don’t let the time of year put you off because the bass fishing can be really good, it’s Ireland and we can get any kind of weather any time of year, and where we guide allows us to get out and fish properly almost whatever the conditions are doing. The dates for this early November 2021 trip are:

  • Sunday October 31st - arrive in Kerry

  • Monday Nov 1st, Tuesday 2nd, Weds 3rd, Thurs 4th - fishing!

  • Friday 5th November - depart

These trips are based around five nights accommodation and all food plus the four days of fully guided lure fishing. Plenty more details here. Contact me if you’d like to come, please don’t worry about paying for rod tubes if you choose to fly because I will have plenty of rods for our people to use if needs be, hope to see you out there. Please note that you need to be able to provide proof of being double-vaccinated to travel to Ireland at the moment (use the NHS app). Have a good weekend, I’ll be on the ferry this afternoon and then arriving in Kerry sometime early evening. It’s going to feel so good to get on those Irish roads once again, can’t wait for the next couple of weeks………….

The last fish I photographed in Ireland, hope to get a few more bass and possibly pollack for our people……….
