Exactly two years since my heart attack, really rather glad to still be doing this living thing!

It was actually my wife who reminded me yesterday that today (8th August) would be exactly two years since I had a severe heart attack. I won’t bore you with any of the details because they are all there if you go back to August 2023 on this blog, but let me assure you that every single day makes me very happy that I survived the heart attack and got to carry on living. I “celebrated” this by going for a rather lovely and very relaxed 8k run early this morning. Not something I ever thought I’d be saying I might add, but together with fishing I have a proper running addiction now…………

I drove to the Isle of Wight yesterday and saw my two girls for the first time in a month or so - they are both teaching sailing down here and staying with my in-laws - and whilst they probably won’t have realised, I did give them an extra tight hug when I caught up with them both. We don’t sit around and constantly analyse what could have happened a couple of years, but we also don’t ignore it. I am a massively proud dad of two truly awesome girls, a massively lucky husband to an amazing wife, and I really am rather glad that every single thing went my way on the morning of 8th August 2023 and that I still get to do this living thing for what I hope is a good while longer.
