With my family, no blogging this week, anybody else struggling with so much weed around?

I hope you are getting a bit of this somewhat more summery weather wherever you might be, and for the rest of the week I am going to spend some time with my family who I have not seen enough of recently. It’s nearly a year since my heart attack and I do my utmost not to dwell on what could have happened if everything hadn’t so luckily gone my way. From time to time though it hits me hard that when I called my wife from the ambulance on the way to the hospital and scared the life out of her and my two girls, let’s just say that I remain beyond grateful that it wasn’t the last time I got to speak to her…………….

On the fishing front, it continues to be a strange year down here. Not for one second do I wish away what might pass for “summer” these days, but on the lure fishing front I am so looking forward to autumn and early winter when we lose so much of the bloody weed which is making so many places completely unfishable. I got out on Saturday afternoon as the breeze began to put just enough life on the sea and I found some increasingly lovely conditions.

It was full of weed and completely unfishable though, and what was even more frustrating was that a specific part of the mark was just about okay when I started but I left it alone to come back to it later in the tide when I really like it. I worked my way back there for a specific time, only to find it choked up and unfishable. I didn’t come away empty handed though because I managed to shoot a few photos of myself using some gear I am testing out. Is it just me or is the weed situation a good bit worse this year? I will catch up with you soon.
