Toit Fishing 7 inch scissors review (yep, I am reviewing a pair of scissors because they are so damn good) - £26.99 in the UK

Whilst there is no real planning behind this blog, I didn’t really see myself reviewing a pair of scissors on here. These Toit Fishing 7 inch scissors are so good though that I thought you should at least hear about them. The lad behind Toit Fishing very kindly sent me a pair of these scissors to see what I thought, and he put a second pair in the parcel and asked me to give them to my household for kitchen and garden use. He did not ask me to do a review here by the way, and to be perfectly honest I didn’t think I’d get remotely excited about a pair of scissors and therefore wouldn’t be reviewing them anyway…………….

But damn these things are good. I don’t take these Toit Fishing 7 inch scissors out fishing with me, rather they stay here at home and I use them mainly for when I am putting new leaders on my setups or loading reels with line and so on. These scissors cut through braid and mono or fluoro so easily it’s almost a case of finding bits of line just to cut stuff up because they are so good at it. These scissors are obviously not going to change my life, but they are a good deal better than any other scissors I have owned or used before, and quite how Toit Fishing has got them to be able to cut thin braids just as easily as mono or fluoro is beyond my pay grade. So easy to use, so well designed, the tension when you press down on them is perfect, the locking mechanism is great, can a pair of scissors be good to look at as well? Because these are!

My wife has effortlessly spatchcocked a few chickens for the BBQ with these scissors, and I obviously asked her how well the scissors worked. Along the lines of pretty effortless was her feedback, and she has also been using them in the garden for dead-heading and general pruning and so on. I know you don’t need to spend £26.99 on a pair of scissors, that obviously goes without saying, but these Toit Fishing 7 inch scissors are a noticeable step up over any other scissors I can recall using so perhaps they are decent value for money? I do know that cutting the fluoro tag down really close after you’ve clinched the FG knot is noticeably easy and precise with these things, then the braid you need to cut literally falls off the blades when you squeeze the scissors together. Yep, it’s a moody Wednesday out there and Henry is reviewing a pair of scissors! What I’d really like to see is say a 5’’ pair of these scissors in a nice little sheath which can sit on my wading belt.
