This lad’s first ever cast in Ireland - and he goes and hooks a bass!
A very brief post this morning because it’s a bit hectic out here with work. I have stopped off on my way back from Kerry to spend a couple of days on the south coast of Ireland doing a photo job for a fishing tackle company. In the main it’s to get images of their gear in action, but a fish or two never hurts of course! The actual bass fishing conditions are pretty naff - flat calm, clear, bright sunshine - but the lads are giving it a good go so my cameras. This lad here in the photo has never fished in saltwater before and this is his first visit to Ireland.
We spoke about what sort of features to look for last night, so down he wanders onto some slippery rocks, out goes his paddletail, and bang, he hooks and lands a rather lovely bass on his first cast. Is it all downhill from here?! You all have a good weekend and I will catch you next week when I am back home. Before I left Kerry yesterday afternoon I landed an incredibly angry bass around the 6lb mark, and it was without doubt the hardest hit and scrap from a bass I can remember for a long time. You all have a good weekend…………..
