So what exactly is a needlefish lure, and surely a bunch of other lures work in a similar way?
Do you tend to concentrate on specific parts of the water column if and when you chase bass on lures at night?
How good did that feel! First cast after two weeks without fishing and I caught a bass……..
I am still whacking needlefish out and doing no more than winding them straight back in, and they continue to work just fine…………
It’s still the most extraordinary buzz catching bass in the dark on such simple lures fished in such simple ways

Bass fishing, Fishing tackle, Lure fishingHenry Gilbeyneedlefish, Jim's Lures, Spofford's, Yankee Lures, Super Strike, Westin Kongetobis, Savage Gear Line Thru Sandeel, OSP DoLive Stick, white senko

Is it my imagination, or are there more and more lure anglers fishing for bass at night, and often catching more and bigger fish?
Do you think what bass are feeding on at different times of the year then affects how they hit your lures?
I’d like some needlefish type lures around the size of a 6’’ senko, perhaps a little heavier - what are my options here in the UK?
Found a few needlefish lures over in the US which should be a good size for our bass and the rods we tend to use
