Off to Ireland today for some guiding work, seriously excited, I will blog when I can
Yep, it’s that time of year for me again - I’m heading for Kerry in SW Ireland for a couple of weeks of guiding work. I won’t be fishing myself but it makes absolutely no difference to me at all - I am seriously excited to get back out there, to catch up with the lovely people I am so lucky to work with, and to help our anglers catch some fish in a truly magical part of the world (that even after all these years now I still have to pinch myself that I get to spend time there for some of my work)................
So I will spend all of today driving up to west Wales, getting the ferry from Pembroke Dock to Rosslare, then driving right across Ireland and hopefully arriving where I stay in Kerry around midnight tonight. I will then get up early on Tuesday morning and go for a run before starting to get stuff ready for our first group of four anglers arriving later in the day. I can’t wait to get going and goddam I am excited about getting to spend more time in my favourite country on earth.
As always when I am on these guiding trips I will do all I can to keep you posted on here, but please understand that we work very long hours and my blog posts from out there most likely will not be as regular as they usually are. Anyway, I had best go pack the Epic Berlingo up and hit the road. My iPhone is full of podcasts for the long drive, I’ve got a good film on my iPad for the ferry journey (Apple take too much of my money!), and I am absolutely bouncing with excitement to be heading over to Ireland……………
