I’ve put a new video up about this alternative and very easy J-hook jig head rigging method
This is not going to change the world, but it’s a very easy way to rig the more narrow-profile soft plastics onto a fairly regular J-hook jig head. As I explained here in a previous blog post, I was put onto this simple method by a lad on Facebook, and I am guessing that a lot of you might already know all about this and I’ll see you next week………….
But if you don’t, have a look at my new and wildly exciting YouTube Video below. In it I show you how to rig soft plastics like this, and as ever with my YouTube “work”, please also understand that these videos are also a lot to do with me learning more about shooting footage on my own, what shootage I need for the editing suite as such, and then the whole editing process itself which I am really enjoying (early mornings!) but I have got SO much to learn about the whole thing. It was a lot easier back in the day to do all my stuff in front of the camera and thrive on the pressure of trying to catch fish in the allotted timescales! It’s amazing how technology gives us so much control over what we can do these days, but wow it’s a steep learning curve.
There is no point in me going into this alternative way of rigging again when I have blogged about it here, caught fish on it here, and now put together this short video. What I don’t think I really get across though is how much I dislike trying to thread soft plastics on to jig heads, or rather I am not very good at it and part of the reason I so like this other method is because you basically can’t go wrong with the rigging process. You may or may not end up ever fishing soft plastics rigged like this, but the method exists and I hope my new video is easy to follow. You all have a good weekend and I will catch you next week.
