Isolation over, driving to Ireland today for some more co-guiding work, new Penn Slammer IV reels are starting to appear in the UK

That was some lucky timing with my catching covid and having to isolate here at home! Okay, so if I hadn’t caught covid I’d have been in Ireland already and would have fished for a few days with some friends who are over there right now, but isolation forced me to change my travel plans and instead I will get tomorrow with these lads and then our clients arrive on Sunday for a guided lure fishing trip. I am obviously looking forward to getting back over to Ireland, but with having had to isolate here at home and sort of losing ten days it kinda feels a bit like I have only just got back from the last trip……………..

I’m taking nothing for granted though. If covid had got hold of me later than it did then I’d have had to mess our group timings around and that is always the last thing I would ever want to do, but aside from having to stay at home for ten days and slowly but surely start going mad with losing my freedom, I got lucky with the timings and I also feel extremely fortunate that the amazing vaccines did their thing and I never got much worse than a bad dose of man-flu and feeling pretty weak for a while. I can’t smell or taste anything by the way, and I’m very much hoping those senses come back because John’s wife Lynn is one hell of a cook and the food they provide for these guided trips is pretty bloody epic. If all goes to plan I should be arriving with John and Lynn in Kerry about 10pm tonight.
