I am obviously a hopeless tackle tart, but I am beyond proud with how awesome our new £150 Savage Gear SGS5 lure rods are (new video)
Sorry, I wasn’t going to put this blog post out until next week, but Savage Gear UK just released the new video below so I thought I’d might as well crack on with it. If you read this blog then you know all about what a hopeless fishing tackle tart I am, but you might also have picked up on how exciting I find it when I come across lure fishing tackle which is really good but doesn’t cost the earth. Imagine then how excited I am to be sitting here at home, typing this, and knowing that in early June we are going to launch what I genuinely believe are THE best lower priced lure rods I have ever fished with………..
There is no point in me going on about the development process behind all these new Savage Gear SGS5 and SGS8 lure rods because you can read all about it here (Monday’s blog post). Nope, I’d rather just get the new video above up and then wait until these rods start going out to shops and into anglers hands - hoping that a few of these rods do actually sell of course! - because I am genuinely so excited for people to get to fish with lure rods around the £150 that are so damn good and behind which all the thinking and development and refining has been based completely around bass fishing with lures from the shore in the UK and Ireland.
I hesitate to use the word “budget” when talking about three lure rods around the £150 price, but with what’s available these days then perhaps it is actually fair. I don’t like what the word “budget” tends to imply though, because there is nothing at all lesser about how these £150 SGS5 rods fish. From day one we worked on making these rods fish as close to the more expensive SGS8 rods as possible, indeed I reckon there are a few people within the Savage Gear organisation who have had enough of me banging on about these rods and how good they really are. My apologies for all this recent Savage Gear related stuff, but June is a big month for us and a load of bass fishing products - and I’m bloody proud of what we have done so far. Tackle tartery is a big part of me as you well know, but a part of me is the most proud of these £150 SGS5 rods which will be in shops early June.
