Huge congrats to a thoroughly nice lad who caught his double figure bass of a lifetime on a creature bait a few days ago

I would like to say a huge well done to a really nice lad who landed his bass of a lifetime the other night - outstanding fishing Chris!!!! - and what really stands out to me apart from the size of the fish (77cms, 11 lbs+, measured and weighed) is the fact that he caught it on a creature bait/crab imitation lure (the all-in-one MegaBass Sleeper Craw, check out a recent blog post of mine about them here). And it was at night. I haven’t quite broken my own creature bait virginity yet, but hearing about a double figure bass coming to one certainly increases the confidence levels. I don’t know Chris well, but I know how much he loves lure fishing for bass and I know how much this fish means to him. Chris Lowe is also an awesome wildlife photographer, check out his Facebook photography page here.

Thank you Chris for letting me use your photo

I have talked enough to some anglers who have already had good success with this style of lure fishing, but to hear of a double figure bass coming to one AND this early in the year only confirms my belief that properly working out how and when to fish these crab imitations is an avenue seriously worth exploring. It’s just impossible to ignore and I would be foolish to do so. I am always after more options and strings to my bow. Well done again Chris, and thank you for helping to increase my own confidence levels that I am ploughing a field very much worth planting. I think that expression works! Whatever the case, you know it makes sense……………
