Happy Christmas and New Year 2025
This is me wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year. It’s time for me to take a little break from the blog and spend time with my family. Have a great time wherever you are in the world. If you read this blog then you are most likely an angler who fishes somewhere on this glorious planet and you are all more than welcome here. Thank you for reading my output………….
Not long after New Year my wife and I will be on our own at home for an extended period for the first time in years. Our eldest girl will head back to SW France where she is teaching English in a couple of French schools as part of her third year of a languages degree at Durham University, then our youngest girl heads off travelling to some amazing parts of the world for five months before she does the uni thing next autumn.
So it’s going to be a quiet few months here at home. Who am I going to talk to about running when my youngest girl isn’t here? My poor wife is going to have to suffer my talk of splits and cadence and kms per month and so on! I guess you raise children together with the aim of them leaving home at some point and forging their own ways. My wife and I wouldn’t choose to live anywhere else than here in Cornwall, but I don’t see either of my girls settling down here after university. It’s been an amazing place for our girls to grow up, but the world’s a big place and there are more opportunities elsewhere. My dad would have so loved seeing what my two girls were getting up to with their lives.
Anyway, we are nearly at the end of another year and I am still here! I remain ever thankful that I got through my heart attack and managed to stick around for a while longer. I hope you all have a bit of a break over Christmas and New Year, and if you manage to get out fishing then I hope the fish of your dreams does the decent thing and snaffles your lure, bait or fly. Catch you soon………
