Batten down the hatches again!
Driving is a means to an end, but the road along the top of Whitsand Bay here in south east Cornwall really is quite something. The views to the beach and rocks below and then east to Rame Head and west as far as the eye can see on a clear day do it for me every single time I am on this road, which considering I live and fish around here tends to be fairly often. My family and I took the dog for a walk yesterday afternoon to the coastline between Penlee and Rame and I steered my Epic Berlingo along that Whitsand Bay Road to be met by a sea that was still fairly turbulent and extremely brown/discoloured from the windy conditions the day before. It’s a privilege to live in a part of the world like this where we can so easily access such a beautiful coastline, but wow I bet it’s getting pretty hectic out there right now…………….
I am not going to bang on again about how I know that there are bass to be caught out there but we can’t bloody get at them, but as per above from XCWeather the forecast for the next couple of days is interesting to say the least! I know a forecast is only ever that, but already from my office windows I can see the trees really starting to move and I would imagine it’s getting pretty wild out there along many of our coastlines. Check out the potential wind gusts for this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon for Plymouth above, and over where I do my co-guiding work in Kerry it’s looking like armageddon right now! We went out for a dog walk at 6am this morning and it was actually relatively benign, but I fancy a few wet and very windy dog walks over the next couple of days to say the least. It’s January and we can hardly be surprised to get weather like this I know, so stay safe out there, and yes, I am obviously still hoping for a decent crack at a few bass on lures before the dreaded February rolls in.
