A fascinating new video from Ultimate Fishing specifically about fishing for bass with the MegaBass Sleeper Craw lure
I don’t know how YouTube knows that I like fishing!!, but a couple of days ago a brand new video from Ultimate Fishing dropped into my feed. Turns out it’s a new film that revolves around the rather talented French bass angler Nicolas Cadiou offering up a hell of a lot of useful advice on how to get the best out of the MegaBass Sleeper Craw soft plastic lure. How to fish it, the sort of locations to fish it, information on the actual lure design, you name it this video does it for this lure and (sea) bass fishing………….
Make sure to turn on the subtitles for this video if you don’t speak French, and as with the video itself I must give a lot of credit to Ultimate Fishing’s creative team for putting this together AND for releasing it with some pretty good and very handy English subtitles. Ultimate Fishing is a tackle company and as a business they need to sell fishing tackle - really? - but I really admire them for pushing out such an easy to understand and incredibly informative and useful “how to” video that is based purely on one of the lures they happen to import and then distribute. The best of both worlds if you ask me.
If these lures work for you, you are obviously going to buy more of them - like me! - and I far prefer a (promotional) fishing video like this that offers up so much information about how to go about using what to some anglers might look like a rather confusing bit of technical soft plastic. Hell, it’s not like I am very far down the road with the whole creature bait thing myself. The more that anglers catch fish on the fishing tackle they buy, the more of it they are likely to buy in the future. Surely if you don’t help your customers get to grips with how they might best use their purchases, the chances of them being returning customers is somewhat diminished.
There is a lot I take away from this video with a direct relation to waters I fish and especially waters which I might loosely know but recognise that there is SO much more I should be doing. We all think in different ways, so it was really interesting to ask a couple of mates what one of the main things was that they took away from this Ultimate Fishing video - and they came up with a different takeaway to me. I love it. As Nicolas alludes to early on in the video, what are bass more likely to feed on in an estuary environment?
