A video review/initial impressions of the Shimano Vanford C5000XG spinning reel

I thought I’d try something a bit different which I’ve been wanting to try for a while, so with the arrival of this stunning Shimano Vanford C5000XG spinning reel a while back, now was the time. If you read the reviews I put up on here then I hope you get the impression that I really enjoy writing them - I do! - but with me starting to mess around with video a bit more I’ve been thinking about how video reviews of lure fishing gear might or might not work. I’m not remotely sure where any of this video stuff may go because it takes a lot more time to shoot yourself yapping about something, getting the right cutaway shots for editing and so on, and then cutting the thing together here at home when I am very obviously newish to editing and indeed filming myself………………….

But while I keep on considering this “filming myself” stuff as a good learning experience and also a bit of fun I’ll keep going and see where I end up. In reality it takes up too much time to make a lot of sense at my end, but perhaps if I can start to include more video stuff into my work with Savage Gear then things might come together a bit better. Whatever the case, below is a video that I shot and edited over the weekend, and what a weekend it was down here with some utterly stunning weather. Hell, we went to a nice quiet part of a local beach here yesterday and had a picnic lunch in the sunshine and out of the breeze. Coming out of winter and with the current shitshow going on in the world, how good does some proper sunshine feel on your face?
